FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I am so grateful to Dr. Alexander for being with my family on the worst day in any pet parent's life. Her compassion and care to detail were priceless to us. To those of you considering in home pet euthanasia, I would highly recommend it. Our boy passed in his home with his family in his bed and not on a cold floor at a clinic.
This is the second time Dr. Allison has been there for us in such a difficult time in our lives. I requested her immediately when we knew our 16 month old golden doodle Rutledge's cancer was terminal. She is so very respectful, knowledgeable, loving, kind and calming. The peace we felt in this process at home was priceless. My sweet baby crossed over with his family and his animal family by his side while eating hotdog and whipped cream. Words are just not enough to describe what Dr. Allison gives to her patients and their families. Thank you so much for providing this alternative to traditional euthanasia at the office. Thank you again Dr. Allison for helping carrying the weight of something so painful for us.
Losing a pet is never easy but this was a very compassionate experience and a peace of mind that my fur baby was in her comfort zone and not traumatized by having to go to the vet. Very peaceful.
If you are having a difficult time choosing between the vet or home, I guarantee the experience will be lighter if done at home. I did months of research & discussing with other vets about euthanasia for my 14 year old husky. Dr.Gary is the only one I recommend for in-home euthanasia. He couldn’t have made this experience any easier. When Dr.Gary arrived, none of us felt rushed or pressured. He answered all our questions & allowed us to make our own keepsakes. Before & after the process, Dr.Gary was very responsive and attentive to our needs. His presence and professionalism made it a bearable experience for me & my entire family. I wouldn’t want to do it any other way or with anyone else.
When it came time to suffer through the reality that it was time to end my best friend's pain, finding the right service to guide me through the process was key. Dr. Kristina Pugh with CodaPet was the perfect solution to guide me through the process. When she arrived, she got on floor and gave Petey love and then asked if we had any ice cream for a treat. I don't keep ice cream, so she was able to create a bowl using yogurt and a few items I had in the refrigerator, so we had a nice treat as we moved along. Dr. Pugh was so patient and told my buddy (an American Bulldog) that he could take as much time as he needed to settle down and come sit with me on the floor. I was able to sit and hold Petey through the entire process just talking to him and letting him know that I was right there with him. She started with a shot that relaxed Petey and once he was totally relaxed, but still able to recognize my presence she continued with the process and was able to monitor his heartbeat until he peacefully passed. Dr. Pugh after pronouncing his heat stopped removed herself and gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye before placing Petey on a stretcher and carrying him to her car. She was able to get me a lock of his hair and an impression of his paw and took care of all his arrangements. I can't say enough about the love and compassion and the ability to say goodbye in my own home that this process provided. I highly recommend using CodaPet for anyone needing this service, as they are comforting and understanding of your situation.
Words cannot convey the depth of our gratitude to Dr. Elizabeth Parks for her compassion, kindness, and support in helping us say goodbye to our sweet 16 year old kitty, Sheba. Her gift of comforting words and her caring empathy in hearing our stories made our kitty’s passing peaceful and bearable. We are so thankful to have found her.
