FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

When it came time to suffer through the reality that it was time to end my best friend's pain, finding the right service to guide me through the process was key. Dr. Kristina Pugh with CodaPet was the perfect solution to guide me through the process. When she arrived, she got on floor and gave Petey love and then asked if we had any ice cream for a treat. I don't keep ice cream, so she was able to create a bowl using yogurt and a few items I had in the refrigerator, so we had a nice treat as we moved along. Dr. Pugh was so patient and told my buddy (an American Bulldog) that he could take as much time as he needed to settle down and come sit with me on the floor. I was able to sit and hold Petey through the entire process just talking to him and letting him know that I was right there with him. She started with a shot that relaxed Petey and once he was totally relaxed, but still able to recognize my presence she continued with the process and was able to monitor his heartbeat until he peacefully passed. Dr. Pugh after pronouncing his heat stopped removed herself and gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye before placing Petey on a stretcher and carrying him to her car. She was able to get me a lock of his hair and an impression of his paw and took care of all his arrangements. I can't say enough about the love and compassion and the ability to say goodbye in my own home that this process provided. I highly recommend using CodaPet for anyone needing this service, as they are comforting and understanding of your situation.

While no one ever wants to have to make the decision to access services such as these, if you are searching you can be sure that I was in the same situation and could not have been happier and placed more at ease once I scheduled. Dr. Melissa Magnotta was wonderful in making sure the process was seamless, that my fur baby was taken care of in the best way possible and that my young adult daughter was comfortable throughout and given the space needed to process this natural part of life in losing a pet. It takes special people to do what Dr. Magnotta does and I am forever grateful that this is the connection that I made.

Dr. Renee Schott was extremely friendly and understanding of the situation with our elderly cat. My family and I are very appreciative for her explanations and walkthrough of things. This is a difficult review to write and the words are escaping me, but I am confident to say that there could have been no better outcome all thanks to Dr. Schott. Thank you.

My gratitude to Dr. Becca and her team is immeasurable. In home pet euthanasia made a heartbreaking process much more peaceful and dignified for both my pet and me. Their compassion and empathy were truly unparalleled. I also appreciated their understanding cancellation policy - it gave me the flexibility I needed during such a difficult time. Thank you for treating my fur baby with such care and for staying until I was okay. I’m deeply grateful.

Dr. Lori was so kind and compassionate, which was so appreciated. She was so gentle and caring with little Gracie. This experience was so peaceful and calm because we were able to say goodbye at home, and avoid that last trip to the vet's office, which always made Gracie shaky and fearful. Also, Gracie's brother and litter mate, Milo, was able to know what was happening and say his goodbyes to his lifelong companion of 14 years. Much better this goodbye than having his sister taken to the vet's, never to return, and not know what happened. I'm so grateful for this service, and Dr. Lori Schmalz, who brought such a welcome level of reassurance and kindness to the day we had to say a heart-wrenching goodbye to our sweet Gracie.
