FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Sadly, we said our goodbyes to our faithful 4 legged companion of 18 years, Rudy - a Dutch spaniel ( kooikerhondje) on 27 Feb 2026. The " at home" final farewell with Dr. Sims was compassionate and peaceful. Very glad that we could say our good- byes in this way. Rudy- long may you run! Marc and Lori , Bourne, Mass.
Dr. Vosburg was compassionate and caring. She made a very sad situation bearable. Explained every step completely with great respect for our pet and for the family.
We had to make the difficult decision of releasing our sweet Maggie from her pain. It was important for us to give her the dignity of a peaceful passing surrounded by the comfort of her home and loved ones. We found CodaPet and the earthly angel, Dr. Delia. We were able to book a same day appointment, the process that CodaPet provides is quick and efficient which is so important when trying to navigate such strong sadness. Dr. Delia communicated with us prior the appointment, arrived on time and treated our Maggie with the utmost care, compassion, and tenderness. She discussed the euthanasia process in great detail but with empathy and gave us such grace and support answering our questions with patience. The process allowed for us to have time with Maggie before and after and we never felt rushed. We know that our sweet girl was cared for with respect and continued dignity after she left our home. I can't recommend this service enough if you find yourself in a position of making this hard decision in the future. CodaPet was there when we needed support and guidance and we are forever grateful.
There are endless things I could say about Dr. Megan Lowman, yet somehow none of them feel big enough to truly capture who she is. It may sound corny to say she has wings on her back—but sometimes the most heartfelt truths do sound that way. Because she does. From the moment she walks through the door, her empathy, kindness, and love fill every corner of the room. Dr. Megan has now guided us through saying goodbye to two beloved members of our family—first Paddington, and most recently, Teddy. When we learned what Teddy was facing, I knew instantly that she was the only person I wanted by our side. She doesn’t just provide a service; she feels like family. She understands your heartbreak without you needing to explain it, and she stays fully present, offering steady compassion and genuine love in every moment. I felt an immediate connection to her during Paddington’s passing—a deep sense of gratitude and trust from the very beginning. So when it was Teddy’s time, there was no question that we needed that same tenderness and grace. And once again, the moment she arrived, the fear, anxiety, and overwhelming sadness softened. In their place, she brought calm, comfort, and peace. Dr. Megan, you are truly extraordinary. Your compassion fills a space in a way that words can hardly describe. I am profoundly grateful—for your kindness, your warmth, and the love you showed my sweet Teddy. The difference you made in our home during such a painful moment is something I will always carry with me. I am also deeply thankful to you and to Codpet for providing such a gentle, thoughtful service. Being able to let Teddy fall asleep in my office—one of his favorite places—without the disruption of a car ride, without stress or confusion, and without making that heartbreaking drive home alone… it was more than I could have hoped for. It was a gift. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Krista Geller.
Natalie came to the house to help me say goodbye to my 19 yo Aussie. She was polite, professional and funny too. She explained everything before she did it, was super patient with my other dog, who had to stick her nose in whatever she was doing. She stayed for a while to be certain everything was good, as good as it can be when putting an old freind down. She was very gentle. I highly recommend her if ever you need this service. Thanks Natalie!
Megan was wonderful, she made a horrible sad day much easier. She was most professional and caring. You know her love of our fur babies was evident. Thank you and I would recommend highly. Blessings
