FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

My beloved 19-year-old cat Vincent had cancer and stayed on Earth as long as he could. Dr. Corrie Bates of CodaPet came to my house to provide his end-of-life care. She did so with calm kindness and consideration, which we greatly appreciated during such a sad, difficult time. I will definitely recommend CodaPet to friends and family.
If you are having a difficult time choosing between the vet or home, I guarantee the experience will be lighter if done at home. I did months of research & discussing with other vets about euthanasia for my 14 year old husky. Dr.Gary is the only one I recommend for in-home euthanasia. He couldn’t have made this experience any easier. When Dr.Gary arrived, none of us felt rushed or pressured. He answered all our questions & allowed us to make our own keepsakes. Before & after the process, Dr.Gary was very responsive and attentive to our needs. His presence and professionalism made it a bearable experience for me & my entire family. I wouldn’t want to do it any other way or with anyone else.
I am so grateful to Dr. Alexander for being with my family on the worst day in any pet parent's life. Her compassion and care to detail were priceless to us. To those of you considering in home pet euthanasia, I would highly recommend it. Our boy passed in his home with his family in his bed and not on a cold floor at a clinic.
Sending our beloved dachshund, Teddy, to the Rainbow Bridge was a profound spiritual experience thanks to the personal and professional manner of Dr. Dzierga. We will forever cherish the memory.
Dr. Steve and his wife was so kind and helpful with Roxy and all the pain I have of losing my best friend (Roxy). They are so kind and considerate of all we went though. Thank you so much.
Recently we had to experience the loss of our German Shepard due to cancer. With her tumor on her leg and the pain I knew she was in we chose "in home pet euthanasia”. Dr. Warren made her feel loved as she laid under her favorite tree. I will always use CodaPet from now on. It made an absolute broken hearted day easier on me and my husband as Dr Warren sat in the grass with us and talked to us through each step. His voice cracked as he said, “she has now passed”. I knew at that point his heart was broken too. Even though this is something pet owners have to go through it was a lot easier on our fur-baby and us than going into the clinic where she would have been scared. Plus, she could not walk well enough to transport. I would advise anyone that has to endure this to have it done “at home” where your pet is comfortable.
