Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

I became a veterinarian with a specific mission in mind: to ensure that every animal receives the gift of a peaceful, pain-free passing. While veterinary clinics are places of healing, the clinical environment can often be a source of stress and anxiety for a pet in their final moments. I believe that every pet deserves to spend their last breath in the place they love most, surrounded by familiar scents and the people who cherish them. By bringing end-of-life care into the home, I aim to honor the dignity of each individual and transform a difficult goodbye into a gentle, private, and sacred transition.

Dr. Renee Schott was absolutely wonderful in our time of need. She was professional and so supportive. A week or so after we got a beautiful hand written card with a lovely message that showed she not only listened, she heard what we said. I would highly recommend her!

We had Dr. Renee Schott come out when our cat was very sick and we knew she wasn't going to make it. Dr. Schott was very gentle with her and explained everything that was happening and that was going to happen. It was a very personal process compared to bringing your pet in and I would use this service and Dr. Schott again if I had to.

Review by Dr. Renee Schott

Saying goodbye to our beloved cat Robert was the hardest thing we've had to do. Dr. Renee's in-home experience was the only way we could imagine doing it. Dr. Renee Schott was kind, gentle and understanding throughout the whole process. It turned something that would have been very stressful for us and our cat at the vet into as easy of an experience as it could possibly be. We're still crying for our little buddy a few weeks later, but we know with 100% certainty that we made the right decision having Dr. Renee help us out.

She was very compassionate and understanding of our feelings at such a difficult time, she took the time to ask about Baylor and what he was like. We felt like we had made the right decision to do this at home and she handled everything very professionally.

Dr. Renee was patient and kind. Making the decision to help your dog through the final stage of their life is very difficult, and filled with sadness and grief. We appreciate her thoughtfulness on this difficult day
