Verified Veterinarian
It was never my mission to be a euthanasia "specialist", but I understand why clients appreciate the option of in-home euthanasia when the goal is a peaceful passing. As a veterinarian for Codapet, my objective is to facilitate smooth transitions and graceful exits.

A week ago we had to said goodbye to our beloved Kia. The pain of losing a family member is intense. We are thankful, however , that we had the assistance from Dr. Shannon Nakaya for a safe and calm experience at home. Our little doggie was always terrified at the veterinary clinic, her 15 pound frame shook from head to tail, it was nice to see her happy and relaxed in my arms, eating a treat and wagging her tail one last time.
Dr. Nakaya provided great care during our precious Giggsy final moments. It was such a difficult decision and an incredibly painful day for us, but her kindness, patience, and gentle approach helped ease the burden. We are deeply grateful for the comfort she gave Giggsy at the end of her life. The way she guided us through the process and treated her with such tenderness will stay with us always. Thank you again for your compassion and professionalism. It made all the difference during a very hard time,
Dr. Shannon was compassionate and professional while she helped our girl pass. She explained what to expect and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. I could not have asked for more.
It was with a very heavy heart I had to say goodbye to my sweet Bella! My heart was breaking. Dr. Shannon made the transition for Bella go very smoothly. Finally Bella was at peace and out of pain. I highly recommend an at home euthanasia and I highly recommend Dr. Shannon. She is kind, courteous and if it in anyway could be easier on me she made it so. Thank you Dr. Shannon. 🙏🏻
Shannon was beautiful presence on a difficult day. She allowed Kerala time to acclimate to a new person, and shortly after, Kerala came out to meet Shannon, which confirmed to me that she was ready. Her passing was very peaceful as I held her in my arms. Mahalo nui for making the experience as nice as possible.
Dr. Shannon was very compassionate and professional and human! My dog was very much struggling and I was conflicted but knew it was time. I very much appreciated all she did for my dog, Bentley Beagle, me and my family! She explained all the steps and was a great communicator for the post visit service. If you’re in need of at home care for your furry family member, she’s the best! Mahalo nui loa for all you do, Dr. Shannon!
